The Center for Collaborative Education believes the path that leads students to the “golden door of freedom”, George Washington Carver spoke of, includes schools in which equity is intentionally embedded throughout the system.
We work with policy makers, administrators and teachers at the state, district, and school levels to ensure that all learners have the access, opportunities, and supports necessary to achieve academic success and be prepared for college, career and civic life.
With your support, we will:
Promote equity.
Administrators and teachers will learn to create and implement assessments that are attune to all students’ needs – driving quality instruction and closing the achievement gap. Our Quality Performance Assessment framework empowers educators to develop assessments through a shared understanding of goals, quality standards, and desired outcomes.
Collaborate to develop and test approaches.
Teachers in our Teacher Leadership Network will explore challenges and identify best practices in classrooms serving English Language Learners, the fastest growing student populations in the US. Together, they will work towards improvement and share their learnings to achieve better student outcomes across schools, districts and beyond
Build educators’ leadership capacity.
Schools and districts in need of solutions to address challenges will work with CCE’s field of experts to develop plans for improvement and strengthen capacity through one-on-one coaching, data-based inquiry and professional development.
Ignite change and inspire excellence.
Thought leaders across the country will use the findings and recommendations published by our team of researchers and evaluators to challenge assumptions, deepen understanding and highlight innovation in teaching and learning.
